The Sphynx cat, also known as the Canadian hairless, originates from Toronto, Canada, where in 1966, a litter of domestic shorthair kittens was born. However, one of the kittens was born completely hairless. This was because of naturally occuring genetic mutation. Ever since, these cats are being bred specifically for their hairlessness, and now we know this breed as Sphynx cats. Even though Sphynx cats look completely hairless, they actually have very short and soft hair that is said to be like a peach skin. They come in various colours and skin patterns. Sphynx cats are curious, mischievous, and people-oriented. They are known for their extraverted behaviour and love to be close to their owners.
