How do I make a fingerprint? A fingerprint consists of very fine lines. Of course, for a nice result on your fingerprint tag, the first step is very important: "How do I make the right fingerprint?" The clearer the outlines, the clearer they appear on your fingerprint tag. We are happy to give you tips for the best result . Also, creating a fingerprint with smaller children can sometimes be difficult. We also have tips and tricks for that. There are a number of ways to get the best results when creating a fingerprint. Depending on the materials you have at home and what you find easiest, choose a method from down here. Method 1: Fingerprint with a pad Required: Ink Pad, White Paper The simplest method is stamping with a stamp pad. Choose dark ink , such as black, blue or dark green. Also, make sure you do not use too much ink so that the lines do not melt. It's best to press your finger side by side on a piece of white paper several times, after pressing your finger on the ink pad . Then you can choose which print best shows all the lines of your finger. Also note that some people have one finger (for example, the thumb) with a clearer pattern than another finger (for example, the index finger). Method 2: Fingerprint with a Pencil Required: pencil, white paper Colour a thick surface with a normal pencil (HB) or possibly a somewhat fatter pencil such as 2B on a white paper. Draw over it several times so that there really is a thick surface. Now you can press your finger into it and place your fingerprint on a blank white paper. Repeat these steps several times to choose which fingerprint is the best. Method 3: Fingerprint with tape Required: ink pad or pencil, tape and white paper The basis for this method are the two previous methods. The end result, however, is clearer than the first two methods . First, press your finger into the ink pad (Method 1) or on the small area that you have penciled thickly (Method 2). Then take a piece of tape (make sure not to use your finger with the ink / pencil) and gently stick it on your finger. Then remove the tape again. The fingerprint is now clearly visible on the tape. Stick this tape on the white paper. Again Video shows you exactly how this method works: How to make a fingerprint How do I make a fingerprint with a child? We, at Names4ever, know how difficult it can be to get a nice, unmoved fingerprint from a child on paper. That's why we're happy to give you tips that can help you make the best fingerprint of your child. 1. Have a quiet moment . It sounds logical, but parents often want to order a necklace quickly and think that they can immediately get a fingerprint of their child. But when your baby starts to get tired, it usually doesn’t make sense to tap and pluck his fingers. So choose a moment after your child has eaten, for example, and which isn’t in the middle of a game. It is also possible to take fingerprints while the child is sleeping. 2. Make sure you have all the materials at hand so that your kid has little time to get distracted and has no desire to ‘play’. Therefore, make sure you have a washcloth, a white paper, an ink pad, or a sheet of paper on which a thick pencil surface is dyed (see Method 2 above) and a piece of tape. 3. Check which finger you can use best . In one finger the contours are more visible than in the other finger. Besides, it's nice to have the heart, the center of the fingerprint, in the middle. This is the center where the lines come together. Clean your hand evenly to prevent bumps. 4. Make it a game. For example, you can do it yourself first. Children find it interesting to imitate you. Otherwise, you can gently press your finger on the ink pad and then press the white paper several times. Do not push too hard because then they will pull their fingers back. If necessary, use multiple fingers to see which gives the best result. You can also use the tape as described in Method 3. 5. Clean your finger with a cleaning cloth again. 6. If necessary, send us different fingerprints , then we can judge which one is the best. Fingerprints on very young children Note that the contours of very young children are not yet clear. As a result, you will not get any clear lines in the chain. In this case, we recommend making a whole-hand impression and using the handprint as an engraving. We are happy to advise you which pendant fits well here. Fingerprint of a deceased loved one If you want to have a fingerprint of a recently deceased person, the funeral home can help. They have the right materials to give you the fingerprint. Please note that this is not done by default. If you have this desire, it is advisable to report it to the funeral home as soon as possible. Send fingerprint Finally, scan or photograph the result of these methods (preferably with macro function) and add it as an attachment. It is best to send us several expressions so that we can see which shows the best result on the pendant. When it comes to engraving multiple fingerprints, it's important that you indicate which fingerprint belongs to which person so that we do not confuse the prints. If it is not possible to send the fingerprints digitally, you can also send them by mail. Mention this with your order, then we know it's on the way. Hold a personal chain with fingerprint in your hands Our designers will start processing your order immediately. As mentioned, we will always contact you as soon as it becomes clear that a fingerprint is too unclear. And just because every piece of jewelry is specially made by an illustrator, we can also keep an eye on this process. After the fingerprint has been converted to lines, the fingerprint is cut out and engraved in our studio. Finally, it is finished and checked again to ensure that no scratches or irregularities have occurred during the work process. Of course, this whole process is a bit more time-consuming than when everything is done mechanically, but for us, the quality of every piece of jewelry comes first. At the end we charge about 2-3 working days for design and production. Shipping between Holland and Germany will take about 5 working days. And of course that's not so long for such a special and personal fingerprint jewelry. For many people, opening a jewel box with a fingerprinted chain is a special moment and we hear regularly that sometimes a tear is shed.
